Arthritis is a common disorder that can effect any age. It can be as a result of autoimmune disease causing inflammation to the joints, or due to general wear and tear of the joints, the latter of which is often confounded by excess weight bearing. Osteporosis is where the bone density decreases, generally with age and due to genetics. However, a large proportion of osteoporosis is due to the lack of stress and weight bearing exercises, and poor nutrition.
At Bodybrokers we aim to improve bone density through good nutrition and weight bearing exercises, but constantly work within each client's activity and mobility levels. We help client's suffering with arthritis to improve their range of movements, increase muscle strength and importantly liaise with other therapists such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractitioners to name a few.
This musculoskeletal rehab is considered to be an adjunct to the management provided by the client's GP or specialist.
